When I tore the dryer down, the idler pulley was very stiff and there was black dust on the floor of the dryer from the belt. I reassembled using a light coating of plumber’s grease on the idler pulley shaft and the roller shafts. I also took my time and vacuumed the lint from the vent and blower.
