the unit looks good, is quiet and smooth This is the only NEW 12″ compactor that I can find in the entire USA. The alternative to buying this product is to fix your broken one, buy a beat up one on craigslist (if you can find one) or rework your cabinets to fit a 15″ compactor (could be very involved and pricey).
