A great replacement, all be it a little pricey. My old ice maker still worked….mostly. It made ice, it just didn’t always dump it like it should. It would go through the process of dumping it, but the ice wouldn’t actually come out. Then it would release the next round of water, which would run all over the freezer and out the water/ice dispenser, ruining my laminate floor. I tried everything to fix it, even spraying the ice tray with food-safe silicone. It would be fine for a few weeks, then all of a sudden I would have a puddle of water…
Lasts maybe a year, but not without problems I have an LG side by side with ice maker. The first year I began noticing overflow ice build-up in the freezer. Examination of the ice maker disclosed that after each ice cycle the refill water ran over the side of the freezing tray, so I raised the front of the LG to stop this over flow. Turns out the tray itself was warped because of the action of the tray release mechanism.
