My wife, dreading extremely high repair costs, and the idea of buying a new MAYTAG dryer, took it upon herself to switch out this motor. After watching some videos on YOU TUBE, we ordered this unit, along w/ a drum belt. Once they arrived, she set to work. Within a few hours, we had a dryer that was as good as any new one! After six months, no problems. Reflecting back, she said that the worst part was dealing w/ the clamps that hold the motor in place. They were tough coming off and going back…
Having realized this motor fits perfectly, but none of the instructions on the correct wiring sequence apply to my Maytag electric dryer.I have been able to get this motor running, but only by using the breaker switch and bypassing the timer to start and shut off the dryer.I am seeking ideas on how this motor will eventually be correctly wired, in the meantime, I really wish I could have purchased a motor precisely circuited for this dryer.This dryer is not close to being worn…
