Absolutely beautiful to begin with, but…. This was an absolutely beautiful cooktop when it was installed. And it works great. But one day, for an unexplained reason, you’ll find that the glass in this gas on glass cooktop is going to break…ours had two lines that cracked within two weeks of each other.Then you’re going to find that it costs $700 plus labor to replace it. No help from GE once you leave the warranty period.So, I’m doing my duty to shoppers everywhere to say don’t buy this one. Find another…
Not Very Durable I have had this cook-top for 4 years now. These are some of the deficiencies I found:The knobs are made of the wrong type of plastic for the application. When using a 5 gallon canning pot the heat gets to close to the control knobs and they melt.The enamel on the cast iron grates starts to spald away after high temperature use. There is missing or bubbled enamel coating where the flames come into contact with the grates.One grate had a section of iron broke…
