Sturdy, but needs an extra cover! All well with the construction, ONLY the thinnnnnnnnnn layer of board protection and the flimsy fabric to cover it all, is nothing I would want to iron on, as the pattern of the underlying metal construction would SURELY show on my shirts and T-shirts after ironing! High quality, AMERICAN MADE, ironing board at a great price! I am very pleased with the quality of my new ironing board. This board is light enough to easily move to different locations in my home, but is very stable. I really like the firmness of the steel top.
