Great First Impressions Unit is relatively large and operates quietly and without much vibration. Installation was quite easy but know that the electrical fitting to connect either a typical cord or electrical conduit is not included. The unit switches on/off via a magnet inside of the drain plug so no more mechanical switches. This is a really nice feature. I have installed this brand in two kitchens over the past two years and love it! You may or may not like this newer model with the added protection of the locking cover. Although water flows past the cover when it is in place, food does not, of course. When I am preparing a large meal with lots of peelings, the cover can become an annoyance unless you remember to remove it after processing each batch and not let additional waste build up in the sink as you prep more food. Replaced my old disposal which worked fine but was loud and required reaching and flipping a switch every time. This one is so much quieter and was very easy to install. I like that the drain cover stays in place to allow water to drain but can be left in place to allow water to drain and prevent stuff from falling in that shouldn’t, or lifted out to allow large food particles to wash into the disposal.
