Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack (3 – 4 Quart)
The sealing ring fits around the inside rim of the cover and forms a pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure cooker during cooking. When installing a sealing ring, work it into the cover in four small sections, for example, top, bottom , left and right. Work it into the groove a small section at a time until it is fully in place. Place the cover on the cooker body. Put one hand on the top center of the cover and push down firmly. Open and close the cover several times. Very satisfied with the product I recently purchased a very well-used cast aluminum Presto 4-quart pressure cooker (No 40) at a flea market. Even though the seal ring was very old, brittle and cracked, surprisingly, it would still built up pressure. It had the old-style pressure “plug” in the lid also. I decided to replace the seal ring which included the new style automatic air vent that has the small metal center pin that pops up when the pressure builds up. I ordered part number 09909 even though I wasn’t 100%…
So happy to give new life to an old pressure cooker.
