Knock boxes are handy to have and easy to use. Knockboxes are used to ‘knock out’ to the spent ground coffee out of the portafilter (filter handle) so the next espresso can be prepared. Turn your portafilter upside down and give it a good smack against the inner bar or side of the box to loosen the spent espresso puck. Keep the mess in the box, and the flavor in the cup. The knockbox should be cleaned minimum once per day or when full.

I was skeptical about this going in…but after months of using this thing I came to realize how good of a product this was. Design wise it’s great. What I like the most is the middle bar isn’t directly in the middle of the opening, allowing for a little more space for your puck to drop into the basket after being knocked out. That also gives you just a hair more room for your portafilter to not hit the egdes – which if you care about your equipment, is a big plus. It holds maybe 20 or so…
Totally changed the look of my dishwasher Our dishwasher still works pretty well but it's so...
