Chrome like coating dissolves in dish washer – be aware ! I purchased this item a little over ago just to lightly tamp grounds in a standard coffee drip coffee maker, not for Espressos ( although I do make them on occasion ). I was pleased with the item until I accidentally included it with a load in the dish washer. THE CHROME LIKE COATING WAS DISSOLVED leaving a gray powdery material which easily came off just to the touch and coated my hands.
