Icemaker working again First. watch some You Tube or other outlet to see if you do some diagnostics and figure out if you need to replace the unit. When it looked like I needed to remove the ice maker and do further diagnostics, I ordered this kit, which is a different Ice maker from the OEM 2012 model in the Whirlpool GS25FSRXYY2. You need a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a 1/4″ nut driver or similar, a utility knife, and a flexible putty knife (in my case)I had some difficulty…
The ice maker is in and operating properly. The installation took me an hour or so. I highly recommend taking pictures of each step as you remove the old wiring harness. The black and white pictures on the instructions are nearly useless for installing the new wiring harness. Your photographs taken as you remove the wiring harness will make attaching the new harness much easier. The replacement ice maker is shipped with two new wiring harnesses from which you will choose the right one for…
