Installed this valve tonight on my Whirlpool model LA9200XWW1. The washer is 23 years old. The cold side of the original valve had begun making a howling noise when the washer was filling with cold water. I took a guess that the solenoid valve probably needed replaced and ordered this part. Thanks to many youtube videos I was able to find some videos that showed how my particular washer needed to be taken apart to install this valve. I believe the part has changed as although it was the correct part number and not an error by the seller, it is not exactly the same part. My repair guy asked me to order the part on Amazon as the local parts store couldn’t get it in until Monday. He used a piece of garden hose to jerry-rig the washing machine but the garden hose is not designed to hold hot water so we can only use cold. He has to pick up another part to make it work. The washing machine is about 9 years old but we were not…
