We have ICE!….for Cheap! 🙂 Two weeks ago my 10 year old Kitchenaid refrigerator stopped making ice. I started trouble shooting the possible causes and figured by the time I got done replacing the various parts the rebuilt ice maker would cost $500 or more. Found this replacement on Amazon for around $70. The data window that let you cross reference to make sure you had the correct replacement was very helpful. I bought this as an exact replacement for my original one which lasted about a dozen years, maybe 15 tops. It was easy to remove and install–just loosen 3 screws and unplug it. There is no water connection to worry about. The water just pours in from the back of the freezer from an electrical command given by the unit. Luckily I saved my old unit while waiting for the new one to arrive because the unit does NOT include the Shut-Off Arm. It says so in the instruction sheet that it is NOT…
Perfect fit for our Whirlpool Fridge! Our Ice Maker quit dumping Ice and in our our home that is a catastrophe…lol…! I ordered this part on a Sunday evening and got in Wednesday. Hubby installed it, it is plug and go type installation, and now on Friday morning we have a full bin of ice!
