Does NOT LEAK. Only overflows when you don’t empty pot from last brew. I see a lot of reviews saying this thing leaks. I bet money anybody saying this just forgot to empty the pot first. It’s happened to me twice too. Here’s how it happens: Make coffee; don’t finish entire pot; forget; make coffee again; pot overflows. You’re trying to put 10 cups of water into a 10 cup pot that already had 3 cups in it (for example). Works great once you get past the initial strong plastic smell (taste) I read the reviews on this and many other coffee makers before ordering, so I was prepared for some of the things other reviewers didn’t like. When the product was first plugged in, the control panel didn’t respond. We looked it up and used the “unplug for 20 minutes and plug back in” method which fixed the problem.
